Define what “clear” means
Write down the rooms, deadline, landlord or building requirements, and items that must remain. A floor plan is a starting point, but the physical walkthrough is the record that matters.
Count by system and room
List desks, returns, workstations, task chairs, guest chairs, conference tables, shelving, lateral files, cabinets, and reception pieces. Note dimensions, floor, room, condition, and whether disassembly appears necessary.
Separate non-furniture streams
Keep confidential records, personal property, computers, monitors, batteries, lamps, chemicals, and data-bearing devices outside the general furniture list until each has an approved destination and responsible owner.
Confirm building access
Ask management about permitted work hours, elevator and dock reservations, loading-zone limits, floor protection, insurance documents, keys, escorts, and the route through occupied areas.
Reconcile before pickup day
Compare the final walk-through count with the quoted scope. Label keep, relocate, reuse, and remove zones. Assign one on-site decision maker so questions do not stall the work.
